I'm Back!

After several years away, I have decided to dust off the old blog again. A lot has changed in the last few years since my last post and I feel like I have neglected this blog for quite a while. With being busy with my career in education and trying to get some writing projects done in between I have not been utilizing this great tool as well as I should.

My new goal is going to try to post at least once a week, which I think is a doable goal. I'll be posting previews of writing projects I'm working on, links to things that I have published, either by myself or through a publisher (fingers crossed!). I'll also give my insights on my writing process, what I'm working on. I'll also be sharing some travel stories, though they will be more of past events for the time being (thanks Covid!). Sometimes, it may just be a recap of my week, who knows.

So, speaking of current projects I am currently working on a short horror story collection that I started back in July. I was hoping to have them done before Halloween, but you know, life happens. There will be a little something for everyone: vampires, ghosts, succubi, cults, and event a bit of the Lovecraftian. My hope is to have it done by the end of the month, and maybe ready for readers by the end of the year. We'll see how it goes.

I'm also prepping for NANOWRIMO (National Novel Writing Month). The story I am working on will be a fantasy story. The working blurb so far is this: "An ancient evil is working its way into the court of the kingdom. A corrupt priest has the king's ear and is poisoning with plans of destruction. It will be up to a shape-shifting priest and a thief to expose the truth before it is too late."

Of course, with having to do distance teaching, we will see how successful I am in these goals. Finding time to write when I can be tough, but it is something I love.  I feel like I do more lesson prepping and "off-hours work" now than I usually do. But, I know this soon will pass and life will eventually get back to some kind of normal.

So, finally, before I go I want to do a shameless plug. Back in December, I self-published a short story on Amazon, Dawn of the Feathered Serpent. The story takes place in an alternate Mexico and a journalist investigating some mysterious disappearances. Check it out and leave a review and tell me what you think.

That's it for now! Until next time, be excellent to each other!
